Plot Synopsis[]
The Coterie makes their final preparations to leave. X considers his debt repaid and texts Anabelle to rejoin the group. The remaining 3 kindred hop in a SUV and go to the Grove. On the way, Victor receives a text from Eva. It is a phone number and the words “Call This”. Victor does and gets in contact with Hester, one of the Wyrd Sisters. She updates them on the situation; a group of police cars tailed them to the Grove and trapped them on the roof of the parking garage. No one has attacked or gotten out of the cars yet. Victor tells her they are on the way, to not kill any mortals, and avoid getting arrested.
Japser suggests a plan where Victor and Nelli distract the cops and he gets the Wyrd Sisters out of there. Victor likes that plan but wants to try something else first. He makes another call to a “contact” Baron Abrams introduced him to. The contact attempts to solve his issue with the police but cannot. The contract also finds it strange that they cannot access who is ordering this or why. Japser’s plan is a go.
They arrive at the Grove. The parking garage is on full lock down. Security guards, Mall cops, and real cops guard every door. Squad cars block each and every exit. Mall patrons are crowded outside trying, and failing, to get to their cars. In this crowd is Annabelle who rejoins the group. As she enters the car, Jasper goes Unseen and exits. Nelli uses her Awe on a cop. She convinces him to escort her, Victor, and Anabelle up to the roof. Once they are in the building, Jasper kills the power.
The Coterie ascends the stairwells. Japser makes it to the roof first. He proceeds invisibly to the van. Victor and Anabelle make it up next. Victor starts a livestream pretending to be on the roof for a photoshoot with Anabelle as his model, Baby B. The cops are distracted. They do not notice Jasper make it to the van and convince the Sisters to open the back door. Unfortunately, the Sisters are quite loud. Some officers re-focus on the van and start shooting.
Nelli helps distract the officers. Through her and Anabelle’s combined Entrancements they get half the officers to go downstairs. A new vehicle arrives and Sheriff Marcos comes out. He and Victor step to the edge of the roof to “talk”. They have a heated conversation about order and chaos. It buys enough time for Jasper to approach invisibly. He pushes Marcos off the roof.
Time to leave! Japser follows the Wyrd Sisters down one stairwell and the other three go down another. The Wyrd Sisters fire off a spell at two cops that accidentally hits Jasper. He flees towards the bottom of the stairwell, where he lies badly wounded. Anabelle is first to arrive downstairs. Outside Jasper’s stairwell, Marcos and his three security guards lie in wait. Anabelle sneaks up and stakes him. She misses his heart. Marcos throws her into a car. Jasper retaliates by decapitating him. The Sheriff of the Ivory Tower lies dead.
Victor pulls up in the SUV. Jasper, Anabelle, and the Wyrd Sisters pile in. Nelli sees a mysterious shadow and stays behind. She confronts the other kindred- a Carmarilla. They get away. She gets a call from her sister Isa. Pertanilla’s voice takes over. She has possessed Isa. She asks Nelli to come to her. Nelli syncs up with Daffodil. She gets in his car and the two leave.
The SUV arrives at the Maharajah. The Wyrd Sisters and Victor come to an agreement; for safe haven they will serve Victor’s cause. Jasper and Anabelle catch up briefly before he departs for the Labyrinth to heal. San Francisco was at war, and now LA is on the verge of it as well.
Endcap:
Juan and Diane return from a date. She’s worried about Chloe who has been busy with “stuff”. He wants to introduce her to Anabelle.
